AMPLIFY Consortium Meeting in Trondheim

AMPLIFY Consortium Meeting in Trondheim

Adoption and impact in Trondheim

From Barcelona for our kick-off, to Stornoway in Scotland, and Pisa, Italy, the AMPLIFY consortium has been on quite the European tour. For our fourth in-person meeting, we headed north to the beautiful city of Trondheim in Norway.

Hosted by our partner, the Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU), at the Gløshaugen campus on May 26th and 27th, 2026, this two-day gathering brought together 26 representatives from across the consortium. With an excellent organisation by Katrien and Ibra, these busy days allowed for positive and collaborative work, challenging discussions and moments of inspiration.

After 18 project months of research and pilot testing, our primary mission now is transitioning from development to real-world adoption and impact.

Here is a look at how the Trondheim meeting unfolded.

Day 1: Defining success and evaluating the work already done

Mikel and François opened the meeting. After a quick icebreaker to get the creative juices flowing, we tackled the big question: What does success actually look like for AMPLIFY? We took a deep dive into aligning our terminology, ensuring every partner is speaking the same language as we move forward:

  • Adoption: Getting the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) to actively use our tools through capacity building, open-source strategies, and hands-on workshops.
  • Exploitation: Focusing on the long-term sustainability of the project, including business models and intellectual property management.
  • Impact: Our 10-year vision to create societal, scientific, and economic change, particularly for small and micro CCIs.

Pilot working groups

Before lunch, we broke out into our pilot working groups. The goal was to analyse the outcomes from our first technological iteration in the last year and a half. What worked? What needs tweaking? How do we make the technology truly ready for adoption?

In the afternoon, each pilot leader reported back to the group, sharing their achievements and laying out their artistic and technological visions for the second iteration of the project.

Impact Workshop

We wrapped up the first working day with an interactive Impact Workshop led by Sofia and Sara from F6S, helping us map out how our local pilots will ripple out to create broader impact and how each partner understands and can contribute to the upcoming AMPLIFY’s adoption measures.

The evening

Of course, a consortium meeting isn’t just about the work in the meeting room! We ended our first day with a private visit to the Kjøpmannsgata Ung Kunst (K.U.K.) local art house, where we were able to continue the reflection on AI adoption by artists, followed by a dinner, celebrating our progress and enjoying the local culture.

Day 2: Roadmap for iteration 2

Wednesday morning kicked off with the Steering Committee aligning on project management, and later the consortium broke into parallel sessions.

The Tech, Human-centric, and Pilot teams held focused discussions to address specific concerns, technological hurdles, and potential scientific papers.

By the afternoon, we brought everyone back together for one of the most critical sessions of the week: turning our adoption strategy into an actionable plan. Led by Mikel, Pablo, and François, we discussed:

  • How Communication and Dissemination can drive our narrative;
  • How to create meaningful materials for creative professionals so they feel empowered to use our open-source tools;
  • How to push our prototypes closer to the market.

Last celebration

We said our goodbyes over a fantastic final dinner, leaving Norway with a clearer vision, aligned goals, and a lot of excitement for what comes next.

What’s next for AMPLIFY?

As AMPLIFY moves into its next phase, stay tuned for announcements on opportunities to engage with our activities! We aim to create digital toolkits and hands-on training opportunities to test our technologies, and you can be a part of it.

We’re also glad to announce that our 5th in-person meeting will take place in Leiria, Portugal.

This upcoming gathering will have a special spotlight on our Music with Babies pilot led by Cooperativa Paulo Lameiro. We can’t wait to see our immersive technologies in action with our youngest audiences yet.
