EJN Artistic Exchange Platform (AEP) 2026
From 24 to 27 September, they will host in Germany (Cologne) the European jazz and improvised music community.
Bringing together over 200 Europe Jazz Network member organisations from 38 countries alongside international professionals, the 2026 conference will explore the role of creative music in fostering societal dialogue, driving cultural innovation, and strengthening democratic participation.
Programme highlights

The conference opens with a keynote by British pianist Alexander Hawkins (“The authoritarian’s trap, and the virtue of invisibility”), followed by an expert panel on the responsibility of cultural institutions. The following day features an exclusive conversation with jazz legend Dee Dee Bridgewater.

Programme: Practical panels exploring sustainable funding, cultural policy advocacy, fair practices, digital visibility, and mental health within the cultural field.

Showcase festival: Running alongside the discourse programme, 13 curated ensembles will perform, highlighting the breadth, vitality, and diversity of the current German jazz scene.

EJN awards 2026: Celebration of the 15th Award for Adventurous Programming and the 8th Music & Community Award. The ceremony also includes a performance by Kyiv-based fusion group Hyphen Dash, winners of the 1st Ukrainian Jazz Prize.
